Welcome to the website of the International Union for Electricity applications (UIE). The investigation, development, promotion and defence of efficient electricity applications with regard to sustainable and economic impact are the mission of the UIE.

Due the growing demands on the effectiveness, on reliability and high quality, on environmental sustainability and on the improvement of the total primary energy and CO2-emission balance, electricity applications will play an increasing role in manufacturing and service industry, in mobility as well as in private households. Therefore an objective knowledge of electricity applications, taking into account the state of the art and future-oriented developments, is indispensable.

The members, associated organisations and cooperating universities within the UIE are working together to meet the mission of the UIE today and in the future.
